I’ll admit that I might have shed a tear or two when I first noticed the signs of crow’s feet developing around my eyes. In an unhappy coincidence, I also noticed dark circles making an appearance, causing my makeup routine to suddenly become quite extensive.

In an attempt to turn back the visible effects of time, I did some research into the best skincare ingredients to use for those problems, followed by a little more digging to discover which of the thousands of skincare products out there contained those ingredients in formulas that actually work.

This is how I discovered Lionesse. Specifically, the Lionesse Amber Collection. This neat trio of products is designed specifically for the skin around the eyes. Each one is packed with a number of highly recommended ingredients, so I decided to go all in and give all three a try.

Did they work? Here’s everything you need to know about this innovative skincare line:

The Allure of Amber

Intriguingly, each Lionesse skincare collection has been inspired by a precious gem. The Amber Collection brings the alluring properties of this golden gem to your skincare routine, with each product infused with amber powder.

It’s an interesting ingredient that you don’t often see around, and it comes with some notable benefits. The succinic acid within amber works to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, while the antioxidants in the ingredient do the same, while also tackling the look of other forms of free radical damage. Amber powder can soothe the feeling of inflammation, too, and can also potentially boost skin hydration levels.

The Amber Eye Serum

Lionesse Amber Eye Serum

Just like face serums, eye serums can be a great way to lavish your skin with powerful actives, and you’ll find several of them in the Lionesse Amber Eye Serum. This serum promises to counter the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles with a blend of vitamin C and several antioxidant-rich plant extracts, including green tea, aloe vera, licorice root, and ginkgo biloba. Those ingredients are also revered for lightening the look of dark circles.

Of course, the thin skin around the eyes renders this area a little more sensitive than the rest of the face. Powerful ingredients can be irritating, which is why they need to be balanced out with gentle, hydrating, complexion-soothing compounds. With an infusion of peptides, sodium hyaluronate, glycerin, and allantoin, this serum provides just that.

The Amber Eye Cream

Thankfully, I haven’t (yet) had issues with puffy bags under my eyes, which is what the Lionesse Amber Eye Cream strives to help with. However, a quick look at this product’s ingredient list told me that it boasts quite a few of the ingredients that dermatologists recommend for fine lines and dark circles, making it worthy of a spot in my skincare routine.

Caffeine, for example, quickly perks up and tightens the look of the skin. Meanwhile, peptides help to provide a firmer and stronger finish. Vitamin A is, as we all know, a superstar at everything, while licorice root extract is revered for how it evens out the appearance of discoloration. All in all, a very impressive combination.

The Amber Dark Circle Eye Cream

Now, for the product that I was most excited about, the Lionesse Amber Dark Circle Eye Cream. Did I really need two new eye creams? Probably not. In my defense, this one contains a different blend of ingredients from the Amber Eye Cream featured above. This meant that there was space for both in my routine (although not at the same time!).

While there are a few similarities between the two eye creams, such as the use of vitamin A and caffeine, this formula harnesses the power of tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate. It’s a highly potent yet non-irritating form of vitamin C. This eye cream is also infused with soluble collagen and vitamin E. Both are known for keeping the skin barrier feeling strong and healthy.

The Results: Does the Lionesse Amber Collection Work?

After patch testing each of these three products, I fully integrated them into my skincare routine. In the mornings, I use the Amber Eye Serum and the Amber Dark Circle Eye Cream. In the evenings, I swap the eye cream for the Amber Eye Cream.

I first started to see a difference around the three-week mark. My fine lines started to look softer, and my entire eye area seemed to look brighter. After a month, I compared some photos and could see a notable difference in my complexion. Now, two months in, those dreaded creases that caused me so much strife are no longer visible, and neither are the dark circles that had made me look so tired and haggard.

These three Lionesse products have more than transformed my skincare routine. They’re worth considering if you’ve been battling with any visible skin concerns related to your eye area. They contain proven ingredients, show results pretty quickly, and will add a touch of decadence to your skincare routine.
