There’s nothing better on a beautiful sunny day than lounging poolside with a great book. Add these 3 books to your summer reading book and enjoy!

I Can’t Believe It’s Not Better: A Woman’s Guide to Coping With Life by Monica Heisey
Though the theme of inept twenty-somethings bumbling their way through the big city is getting a bit tired, I have high hopes for this collection of short humor essays by Toronto-born Monica Heisey. Fellow funny woman Lena Dunham gave it a glowing review, saying “It’s the only humor book I ever want to own.” It’s sure to make you laugh and will make for a light, fun, beach read as you soak up the last few weeks of summer.

Modern Romance: An Investigation by Aziz Ansari
Comedian Aziz Ansari takes on the tricky subject of modern dating and relationships in this book, which he even teamed up with a sociologist Eric Klinenberg to write! Excerpts have been floating around the internet for the past little while and they show that this is much more than just a comedy book—there’s actually some real substance to it. Ansari is sure to have some interesting views on love and marriage, particularly because his parents had an arranged married, in fact the way he talks about this in his interview with Jerry Seinfeld on Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee is what convinced me that I needed to read this.

Go Set A Watchman by Harper Lee
The internet was abuzz earlier this year with the news that this prequel to the classic To Kill A Mockingbird—which is probably the only mandatory school reading that most people actually enjoy—was going to be published. This book revisits all the characters we fell in love with from To Kill A Mockingbird and is sure to be chock-full of important lessons about acceptance and justice as well. What better time to read this soon-to-be classic than poolside in the beautiful summer sun?
